NS14 State Titles 2021

NS14 States day two and overall

PUBLISHED SUN 24 JAN 2021

Racing got away in the morning after a delay waiting for the wind at 10:50 in a light but steady SSE breeze as we have come to expect Nick MvElwee and Holly Jones won from Scott Wilkie and Lucas Foerder and Peter and Karen Davis in third.

The fleet headed in for a quick lunch and were back on the water for the next start at 14:30 many boats missed the start but luckily with a wind shift just after the start began the race was stopped the course re laid and a re start at 14:45 in a light ESE breeze.

During the race the breeze died to about two knots and eventually swang back to the south with the race shortened to a triangle and a sausage, Nick and Holly again took the win from Josh Eggins and Tasha Wilkie second and Sam and Lindy Bailey in third.

The final race got away after a short delay to again re set the course and by now the breeze was a steady 8-10 knots. With perfect sailing conditions there were several mass roundings at the marks making for interesting racing but again the three lead boats had a big margin over the rest of the fleet.

First Nick and Holly for a clean sweep of the series second Scott and Lucas who also had a good and consistant regatta and in third Peter and Karen.

Overall after two drops it was Under the Radar Nick McElwee and Holly Jones as clear winners with a perfect score next Serenity Scott Wilkie and Lucas Foerder and in third Spinifex Peter and Karen Davis.

A stand out performance was Just Ice with Josh Eggins and Natasha Wilkie in forth and Josh beating his dad despite not sailing much until recently.
