With a number of members away for the long weekend only a small fleet turned up for the day.
After a quiet morning the breeze came in just before the start with the airport recording 31knots peak gust.
Six boats headed out but by start time the two B14s headed in as well as one of the Sabres headed back in leaning just three starters on a short course heading WNW in a solid breeze.
On the windward and first reach the NS14s Viva la Vida and Serenity had trouble shaking the only Sabre Rocket Man (with Chris Keil) and at the jibe Serenity capsized and came in with an injured crew.
Viva la Vida did a series of grannies both at the jibe and down wind and only just held a lead over the only other remaining competitor.
Up wind and on the next two laps the breeze eased and Viva ended up with a solid lead and even won on handicap.
Winner Viva la Vida Darren Eggins and Alistair Lord second Rocket Man Chris Keil retired Serenity DNS Wasabi, Bang Bang and Phantom.
Next week is a pennant so we will see you there.
