A message from the Commodore

Commodores update – End of season 24/25 Just a message of thanks and gratitude to the passionate volunteers, members and friends of the Midway Point Yacht Club. What a successful season we have had and with challenging weather although still getting in a full race calendar!

Final week of sailing the Elsey Trophy.

A strange day with very unpredictable weather leading to the race start being delayed until 14:00 then during the first leg a nasty change came through bringing very strong gusts and large direction changes. Firstly Phantom then Viva la Vida and Serenity headed back in, Under the Radar lost the rudder and Noiseworks capsized while heading back to shore leaving just Avengers and About Time to make it a race.

Sailing Cancelled today

Due to the weather todays racing has been cancelled and the Elsey Trophy will be re sailed next week on our break up day.

B14 State Titles day two and overall results

Another intense day at Kingston with a very solid and gusty S to W breeze from 6-8 knots with gusts up to 27 knots. The club was hosting the Open Skiff and Mirror State Titles as well as the Sabot training weekend along with the B14 States.

The Midway Point Yacht Club team of Jo-Anne Verrier Skipper, Lauren Pitt, Sarah Haywood and Sarah Michael had a great regatta with two wins and a forth for a clear overall win on PHS.Well done all of you. At Kingston after day one of the B14 State Titles in a crazy breeze the MPYC boats are also doing well,

MPYC sailors perform well in away regattas

Lewis Bowen and Jess Smith had a sucessful Block Buster Regatta taking out an overall win in the NS14s and Jo-Anne Verrier in a Sabre survived the Crown Series Regatta to win a Special Performance trophy as well as taking out the Sabre Travellers Trophy on handicap.
