Christmas break up, Santa, Training, Scott Miller resail and BBQ

The day kicked of with the final day of training, at 12:00 Santa arrived and handed out gifts to the little ones and after lunch we had a perfect breeze for the Scott Miller Memorial race with a good fleet sailing around an old fashoned around the bay course.

The race got away at 13:34 in a nice SSE sea breeze of 12-16 knots with an occasional stronger puff, the fleet consisted of five Sabres, five NS14s and two B14s and two Windsurfers in a combined fleet. In that breeze the B14s soon stretched their legs with Phantom a full leg ahead of the NS14s by the bottom mark. An error while jybing saw Phantom have a swim and Jumpin Jack Flash Roger Jackson and Sarah Haywood take over the lead. By the finish Phantom was back in front to takle the gun in 49 minutes by over 3 minutes from JJF with the first NS14 Viva la Vida Darren Eggins and Cameron Fletcher-Hall 8 1/2 minutes furthur back the first Sabre was Wasabi Guy Mc Dougall seventeen minutes astern. The first and only finisher in the Windsurfers was D Ford 40 min astern of the first B14.

On handicap it was

Phantom Steve Miller & Safi Davidson first, Serenity Scott Wilkie & Kendra Harrison second Jumpin' Jack Flash Roger Jackson & Sarah Haywood third.

No more club sailing now until after the Christmas New Year break.
