Commodores November update and new Merch orders

Published Mon 17 Nov 2025

MPYC Commodores update – Nov 2025

A couple of items to highlight on what’s going on around the club.

Merchandise orders – Please lodge orders by this Tuesday the 18th Nov. Noting I have been reminding

people at the club over the last couple of weeks, this is final reminder before the order is lodged on

Wednesday 19th for delivery (fingers crossed) by the last weekend of MPYC sailing before the Christmas

break. Order form is attached and can be sent straight to myself, michael.verrier@outlook.com.au

Jess and her band of helpers have been busy getting ready for the Jigsaw puzzle social night on Friday night

the 28th Nov. Please contact Jess (mob. 0428797166) for any questions or to book (if places are still

available!). Flyer attached.

The annual MPYC regatta is fast approaching on the weekend of 6th -7th Dec. The NOR has recently been

released and as it’s a big event for the club extra volunteer help is required. Please consider helping around

the club or checking if you know of any other people you may know who could help with rescue boat work

or general help around the club.

The B14 National being held at the club is also approaching, 28th Dec to 2nd Jan. It has been 10 years since

MPYC hosted the B14’s Nationals and we are hard at work ensuring it will be a safe, well-run and enjoyable

time. As this is held over several days it is important to have a band of volunteers required on each day.

Please considering helping across this event, a day or two or the entire event will be greatly appreciated.

The notice board at the club has a sheet where you can record your interest in assisting and which days

your available. Again, if you know of anyone else who could assist during this time, please make myself,

Darren, Steve Miller or Helen aware.

For those looking to improve their skill set (that’s about everyone ), a reminder that Australia Sailing

has new E-learning courses, with just released Scorer and Handicapper course. The existing Powerboat

Handling Essential Skills is an excellent course for on-water volunteers as it deals with rescue of various

boats – Details can be found at the AS Website - https://www.sailingyouth.org.au/youth-sail-tas/

A huge thankyou to the volunteers who are helping to run the club with both on and off water activities and

to those sailing for your persistence in some challenging weather of late!

Regards
