MPYC Commodores message – End of season 25/26

Just a message of thanks and gratitude to the passionate volunteers, members and friends of the Midway Point Yacht Club. What a successful season we have had and with challenging weather although still getting in a full race calendar!

A big highlight this season was the successful holding of the B14 Nationals between 28th Dec to 2nd January, 10 years after the last time we hosted the B’s. A huge effort by a loyal band of volunteers, great race officer work by Helen and fantastic organising of the off-water events, drink and food. A fantastic example of what makes Midway Point Yacht Club a standout club with many positive comments received from interstate and local sailors. I understand there may be a desire for the B14’s nationals to return ASAP and not wait 10 years!

The club in indebted to our race officer (Helen) for efficient running of club races and the sail training team (Tony, Lewis, Jess, Stephen and Chris) to upskill and encourage our sailors of the future and the band of volunteers helping with having the power boats ready for both training in the morning and racing in the afternoons. I look forward to the trainee’s and our band of volunteers continued involvement with the club next season.

Again a whole hearted thankyou to our dedicated committee members and everyone who comes along and enjoys the facilities, camaraderie, great racing, fantastic training and our volunteers who are generous with their time and skills (yes that includes you Suzie, Karen and Marlene 😊).

A date for the trophy night will be announced soon (targeted before end of May) with AGM for season 26/27 to be held around June/July.

Regards
