The forcast was for light winds and though that was mostly correct there were a few spurts of breeze and everyone enjoyed there final sail for the season.
The race got away at 13:25 with a good fleet of six Sabres five NS14s and two B14s in a light NW breeze of around 10 knots though it dropped out at the start for a little while making for an interesting start. Once everyone got going it was close at the top mark with Phantom from Early Warning and Sundaze no far astern and Under thr Radar right up there. In the Sabres it was again close between Wasabi and Apisca.
The first down wind leg was very broad though with an occasional westerly swing turning it into a reach for a breif period. The two B14s streached there legs even with the second down wind being a bit too shy and it was still Phantom from Early Warning and Sundaze at the bottom mark. With the variable breeze the faster boats were moving away from the Sabres with the exception of Noiseworks who was in a battle with the leading Sabres again Wasabi and Apisca.
The sausage saw the fleet continue to streach out and a bit of a hole in the middle of the coarse near the start boat didn't help.
By the final lap Phantom still held the lead from Early Warning though not by a great deal and Under the Radar had moved into the lead of the NS14s with Wasabi hanging on in the Sabres.
For the second week in a row Phantom just lapped Noisworks before the finish but not the first couple of Sabres.
Early Warning had spinnaker problems at the bottom mark and dropped back a bit to be nearly four minutes astern and Under the Radar held on the be first NS home just seven seconds clear of Sundaze with Viva la Vida back nearly another minute.
In the Sabres Wasabi was first from Apisca by just two seconds and Loose Change five minutes furthur back.
It was a combined handicap event.
First Under the Radar Melinda Lord and Georgia Ottway second Sundaze Sam & Lindy Bailey and third Viva la Vida Darren Eggins and Alastair Lord.
