We managed a morning race today with two B14s and an NS14 a Sabre.

There was only a light SE breeze but enough to get around the course.

Phantom lead at the top mark and for the balance of the race but Bang Bang and Serenity had a close battle with Bang Bang second just clear of Serenity and Rocket Man doing just the two laps with the rest of the fleet three.

on handicap following a time adjustment to Rocket man the result was.

Serenity Scott Wilkie and Gus Wilkie first Phantom Steve Miller and Tim Gadischke second and Bang Bang Stephen Mitchell and Michael Semelbauer in third.

After a BBQ lunch a bigger fleet headed out for the annual Elsey Trophy which was combined with a pennant race.

For this race a fleet of four NS14s three B14s three Sabres and a BIC faced the starter in the dying SSE breeze but before/ or during the first attempt to start the breeze swang to the NE.

The race got away at 14:31 in a building breeze with a drag race to the top mark where Phantom was first from Serenity with Bang Bang and Viva la Vida close behind.

The breeze had built quite a bit by now but was still unstable and with a substantial amount of east made for a near run to the wing mark and a shy reach to the bottom mark.

Phantom with new crew Tim Gadischke in his first races held the lead for the balance of the race with Bang Bang chasing hard and Serenity quite close.

Jayden Gadischke retired in the Bic as did Marlene Nichols in RocketMan.

At the finish line after a torrid race it was Phantom from Bang Bang with Serenity next with Viva la Vida close behind and Buzz next after a swim just short of the finish line.

The Apprentice Lucas Upton was first Sabre with Wasabi over four minutes in arrears.

On handicap the Elsey trophy was won by The Apprentice Lucas Upton from Serenity Scott Wilkie & Gus Wilkie second and Viva la Vida Darren Eggins and Georgia Ottway in third.
