With the afternoon set aside for end of season activities the race was scheduled for 10:30am at which time there was zero wind and so the race was postponed and eventually got away at 11:12 after a nice little Northerly made an appearence. Unfortunately by start time the little breeze was dieing and while all the fleet got to the top mark in reasonable time with the B14s Phantom and Early Warning in the lead the leg out to the wing mark proved challenging with the leading boats hitting a brick wall and the balance of the fleet closing right up.

A light southerly then came in and it was a very slow treck to the bottom (causeway mark) into the now racing incoming tide.

As the race had already taken quite some time the race was shortened at the bottom mark with just the leg to the finish line left to do.

The three B14s were neck and neck heading to the bottom mark with Phantomaround first and Early Warning jybing too early and getting sucked onto the mark and despite several attempts was unable to get back to the mark and eventually retiring. The NS14s were close behind and Hedgehog leading from the wing mark and hanging on to be the first boat home after Phantom ran out of breeze after having lead all day to be sucked onto the finishing mark when the  breeze died with just a boat length to sail and retired.

After a fluctuating race in the Sabres with Cross Roads leading early and in fact at the wing mark being ahead of most of the NS 14s and two of the B14sGrasshopper was able to sail through on the way to the bottom mark and got aroung just before a large lull kept the rest of the fleet waiting and if fact getting furthur from the mark.

Eventually the balance of the fleet was able to round the bottom mark but by thenPhantom had hit the finish mark Hedge Hog was home along with Pumpkin Eaterand Serenity closely followed by Bang Bang and Grasshopper.

Cross Roads retired.
