End of season break up day

Published Sun 28 Mar 2021

Unfortunately as the breeze was very unstable in both strength and direction it was not an ideal day for a pursuit race but a good fleet headed out to give it a try.

Loose Change was first off on 0:00 followed by Sweet Disposition and About Time II at 3:00 then Norwegian Blue at 3:45 and Hedgehog at 6:45 then Viva la Vida and Under the Radar at 7:30 and Sundaze at 8:15 next was Serenity at 9:25 and finally Phantom at 13:30.

After they first lap the Sabres were still in the lead with the NS14s closing on each other and Phantom well back after  an early kite drop on leg 2 and a shy leg 3.

By the top mark the next time the majority of the fleet were quite close together with Viva la Vida and Under the Radar leading the NS's.

On the down wind of the sausage Phantom closed the gap and looked a chance until a capsize at the drop on the bottom mark as did Sundaze a bit furthur up the course.

By the finish it was Viva la Vida first from Serenity with Under the Radar very close behind and Hedgehog also in that group.

Next was Norwegian Blue who held off Sundaze after their earlier capsize.

Chris Keil in his new boat held off Lauren in Sweet Disposition and Phantom managed to get through Loose Change on the final leg.

That is it for season 2020-21 with Trophy night the next event date TBA.
