End of Season festivities and final race

Published Sun 10 Apr 2022

The day got away with MPYC rescue towing an inflatable with kids on board. Then an Easter Egg hunt kept the kids busy followed by an excellent morning tea and later a Pursuit Race and last a superb meal.

It was a nice warm day but the breeze was very unstable making for a tricky race. Being a Pursuit race the boats had a staggered start with a 16:30 spread from first to last to start.

First off was LMG followed by Wetas then Loose Change, some time later was Serenity just before Viva la Vida and last Phantom who started as Loose change was coming through at the end of the first lap.

Loose change moved through Wetas up the first windward and had caught LMG by the bottom mark.

By the finish Loose change held on well to be first ahead of Wetas with Phantom getting through both NS14s and LMG to be third and Serenity sailing one up holding off Viva la Vida and LMG falling back to last.

First Loose Change Phil Bloomfield second Wetas Jo-Anne Verrier and third Phantom Steve Miller and Roger Jackson.

That's it for sailing in 2021-22 our next event will be Trophy Night and the date will advise on this web site and be email to members.
