It was good to see Lucas Foerder brave the blustery and cold conditions in the morning in the Bic.

There was no morning race and the afternoon pennant had a reduced fleet with The Apprentice out of action after damaging the boat last week at Lindisfarne and Serenity not able to sail due to work commitements. The race got away after a flag issue on the second attempt at 14:07 with just the two Sabres and Cat in Div one and two B14s two NS14s in Div two.

We had an on water start and at the start the breeze was about 12 Knots gusting to 17 but more was to come.

With the pennant on the line Phantom with star crew Lauren Bird was soon well clear and lead around the first lap from Viva la Vida and Buzz who had a swim and dropped back.

In the Sabres Wasabi was well in front of visiting Sabre Blue Move Gerrard Smith and Perry in Aquaholic was well placed in the cat between Phantom and Viva la Vida.

After rounding the top mark for the last time Phantom who had just lapped Buzz and had a substantial lead on Viva hoisted the kite with just two legs to go and the pennant in site, however a nasty bullet at the wrong time saw the boat accelerate and with a huge crack the mast broke half way up ending the day and leaving a big job the get the boat repaired and ready for the trip to France for the Worlds.

Viva couldn't believe his luck and cruised home for a win while Aquaholic had a swim at  the wing mark and had serious issues getting the boat back up.

Wasabi had an easy win in Div one and Aquaholic and Phantom retired with Buzz battling on after a few swims to finish last.

On Yardstick and handicap it was

Div one

Wasabi Guy McDougall first Blue Move Gerrard Smith (non member) second and Aquaholic Perry Caulfield third.

Div two

Viva la Vida Darren Eggins and Alistair Lord first Arctic Sam Bailey and Lindy Bailey (non Member) second Buzz Jack Whittle and Tim Gadeschke third.
