With the forecast for fresh winds and cold temperatures and after a nasty day yesterday the trainees stayed ashore and did some theory.
No AM race and with whe breeze disappearing and only a small turn up due to a number of boats being away we nearly didn't sail.
At the last moment a light N NW breeze sprang up and it was decided to go out.
Just the three Sabres and one B14 got on the water and during the first lap the breeze went from NW through W to SW and by race end was a SE to E breeze.
The B14 managed to get clear and kept moving while the Sabres sailed round in various formations never more than a few boat lengths apart.
Early Warning was first by 14 minutes from Ff'alan 16 seconds clear of The Apprentice with Wasabi next 32 seconds astern.
As the breeze had swung the next race started in the opposite direction with only small adjustments to the course.
The breeze was still light but more consistent and building slightly and this time Early Warning was first to the top mark followed by The Apprentice closely followed by Wasabi just clear of Fr'alan.
The boats held this formation until at the start of the second lap Fr'alan got through to the lead after The Apprentice had put a reasonable gap at the bottom mark.
By the finish Early Warning was four and a half minutes clear of Fr'alan nine seconds clear of The Apprentice with Wasabi 23 seconds further back.
The final race was sailed in similar condition with a little more pressure and a slight tweak to the course.
Again it was Early Warning at the first mark with The Apprentice next from Wasabi and Fr'alan at the rear.
There were no changes to the order however The Apprentice put a solid gap over Wasabi and at the finish it was Early Warning just over 5 minutes clear of The Apprentice with a solid 20 seconds over Wasabi and Fr'alan five seconds back.
