Our new crop of trainees had there first day at the club.
As usual we had a good lunch followed by the sail past and first race of the season.
With it being a very cool day, the day after the Grand Final and with a number of sailers unable to attend the first race was a prety quiet affair.
Only three Sabres and two B14s took to the water on a very tiny course in a patchy SW breeze that peaked at around 15 knots.
Ross Daly and Tony VanGalen in Early Warning went out to the right on the first leg and picked up a big lift and from then on were not troubled to take line honors by a masive margin.
Guy McDougall was first Sabre home but was well beaten by the others on handicap.
First was Early Warning from LMG Michael Verrier and Loose Change Phil Bloomfield in third.
Next week is the first pennant so hopefully we can attract a bigger fleet and perhaps some warmer weather.
