It was great to see some new faces at the club with some getting on the water in a pacer for a test sail.

Sorell mayor Janet Gatehouse opened the season commending the club on the numerous upgraded to facilities and friendly inviting feeling around the club. We headed out for a race but unfortunately the breeze built very rapidly during the first lap causing the RO to abandon the race. After packing up the boats we had a BBQ and it ended up quite a good day despite the wind. It was fortunate the race was abandoned as after all the boats were off the water the wind turned quite nasty so we were happy to already back on shore. Next week will be Pennant races one and two.
