Pennant 15 & 16 26th March 2023

Published Sun 26 Mar 2023

Pennant 15 got away at 13:28 in a 10-12 knot breeze and five NS14s four Sabres and a B14 facing the starter in a bit longer race than usual featuring a substation last windward to the finish..

It was a pretty even start with even some of the new sailors right up on the line. By the top mark Phantom had a reasonable lead over Viva la Vida, Serenity and Sundaze all close together  next.

The breeze dropped a little but then slowly built for the balance of this and the next race.

Brother and sister Guy and Jo-Anne went into the final two pennants very close together and sailed out two close races. By the finish it was Phantom first Sundaze thirteen minutes astern then Viva la Vida just 13 seconds astern and Serenity another 40 seconds back. In the Sabres Wasabi first just over a minute clear of Apisca and Wind Wizard next.

Another good even start with most boats on the boat end and by the top mark Phantom already had a substantial lead and this time four of the NS14s including Under the Radar were very close

As the race progress the lead stretched on each leg and by the finish it was Phantom nearly 12 minutes clear of Sundaze with Viva la Vida 1 minute 15 seconds astern then Serenity nearly two minutes furthur back.
