After the trainees had been on the water as well as the better sailing group we managed to get a pennant race in.
A fairly small fleet took to the water in a steadyish Westerly with a mid river start.
Two Sabres two B14's and four NS14s vertured out with a 8-13 knot westerly with frequent small shifts and a few holes.
The fleet got away a bit late at 14:28 after waiting for the breeze to settle into a pattern.
Phantom with the old pairing of Steve Miller and Tony VanGalen got away and into a lead to be first at the top mark followed by Viva la Vida and Sundaze close together and next Buzz and unusually Spinifex back a bit.
Wasabi held the upper hand in the Sabres. As the race progressed Phantom held a substantial lead and was home over 9 minutes clear of the two NS14s locked in a tight battle with Sundaze Sam and Lindy Bailey just ahead of Viva la Vida with Darren Eggins and Alistair Lord.
Spinifex was next followed by Pumpkin Eater and Buzz at the tail.
The Sabres saw Wasabi Guy McDougall home clear of Loose Change Phil Bloomfield.
