We had another on water start thanks to Helen Eggins and despite a significant swing to the east it was a good course.

Five Sabres and a Cat in Div 1 and three B14s and two NS14s in Div 2 all started together with an even start in overcast conditions and an 8-10 knot SSE (not sea) breeze.

At the top mark it was Bang Bang who had held on longest on the starboard tack first around from Phantom with Mick Semelbauer up front then Serenity from Viva la Vida and About Time from The Apprentice in the Sabres.

After a spinnaker foul up on Bang Bang, Phantom took  the lead and by the bottom mark had a nice little lead over Bang Bang and Buzz had moved up to third, Serenity still lead Viva la Vida and About Time was stretching the lead over The Apprentice.

On the next windward Bang Bang went right to the lay line on the starboard tack while Phantom went right and then back to the middle and with a swing to the east Bang Bang was back in front, a similar thing happened in the NS14s with Serenity going east and Viva la Vida west with the same consequences.

About Time continued to stretch his lead over The Apprentice with visitor Andrew in 1656 not far behind.

During the final lap the breeze went well to the east and built to 12 knots with gusts to over 15 knots Bang Bang had a big lead at the top mark from Phantom who despite closing on the two reaches the first being a two sail reach due to the wind change and final up wind leg still trailed buy over 30 seconds at the finish. Buzz who had sailed extremely well to the top mark had a forgettable final three legs to drop back to trail by over seven minutes and be beaten home by Serenity who managed to capsize when the new breeze hit on the final lap but still hold the NS lead.

Viva la Vida was a minute back and About Time finished over three minutes ahead of The Apprentice with 1656 next from Aquaholic nearly a minute clear of Loose Change and Rocket Man five minutes further astern.
