The day got away with a nice gentle southerly allowing a full group of trainees plenty of time on the water in the Pacers.
After lunch the fleet of four Sabres four NS14s and two B14s headed out in a nice steady SSE breeze of around ten knots which initially died to around seven knots then steadily increased to 12 to 14 knots with gusts around 15 knots.
The race got away at 13:18 to a clean start with light weather specialist Serenity leading all comers at the top mark and with a nice break over the next NS.
Phantom was next and soon moved into the lead, approaching the top mark Bang Bang had a "dropped the main sheet" moment spinning around and capsizing and almost taking Viva in the process. Another boat to do well on the lightest upwind for the day was Wasabi who had a good lead over the other Sabres.
Viva was next boat around not far clear of Pumpkin Eater with Norwegian Blue back a bit furthur.
By the bottom mark Phantom had a good lead and Serenity was still in second and up near the top mark Bang Bang finally got the boat up and resumed the race.
With the Sabres again on a shorter course with an inner top and wing mark the fleet bunched up at the bottom mark.
By the end of the race Phantom had a substantial lead over Serenity who held off Viva and Pumpkin Eater was not far back Bang Bang clawed back some ground to finish between Viva and Pumpkin Eater.
In the Sabres Wasabi was nearly three minutes clear of Loose Change with Wind Wizard clear of LMG.

The second race got away at 14:32 in a now stronger breeze of around 12 knots with another clean start with all boats initially on starboard.
By the top mark it was Bang Bang first closely followed Phantom with Viva ahead of Serenity and Pumpkin Eater next.
In the Sabres Wasabi was ahead but not by much over Loose Change and Wind Wizard and LMG pretty close.
Up front it was close at the wing and still close at the bottom mark with Bang Bang just hanging on to the lead.
After another lap it was still close and on the upwind Phantom just got through to snatch the lead only for Bang Bang to get through with a cleaner hoist.
At the wing it was very close and on the final down wind Phantom sailed a bit higher and got the inside running to round just in front, up the final beat it was anyone's win with Bang Bang over one second ahead of Phantom.
Viva held off Serenity to be first NS with Pumpkin Eater three minutes astern and Norwegian Blue another three furthur back.
The Sabres had Wasabi only about 30 seconds clear of Loose Change and this time LMG over a minute clear of Wind Wizard.
