For the first time the club trialed a new layout for the courses and it appeared to work well for the Sabres and NS14s but was perhaps a bit long for the B14s.
Racing got away on time with the big Sabre fleet away first in the 15-17knot Northerly gusting to 23-25. Jason Followes in Fomo and Chris Keil in About Time revelled in the conditions finishing one two with Daniel Followes next followed by Matt Westland and the large part of the fleet all very close.
The NS14s were led around the course by Viva la Vida Darren Eggins and Georgia Ottway with Scott Wilkie and Lucas Foerder in Serenity then Peter & Karen Davis in Spinifex next Andrew and Finn Crisp in Hedgehog.
In the B14s Rocket Ship led from Bondi Tram until they both capsized on the first down wind putting Phantom in the lead which she held until on the line Rocket Ship rocketed through for a narrow win.
Race two was a bit breezier still and in the Sabres Matt Westland in Essence took the win from Fomo and Live Wire third ahead of About Time again this was a close race for the majority of the fleet now reduced to 14 boats with Wind Wizard out after slap with the boom.
In the NS14s again it was Viva la Vida from Spinifex and Hedgehog third with the fleet reduced to four with Just Ice, Sundaze and Norwegian Blue back on shore.
In the B14s Rocket Ship had a win as the only boat to finish with Phantom ashore and Bondi Tram retiring and Buzz missing the start.
Race three saw a still strong breeze Sabres with a reduced fleet of 12 boats and again it was Fomo first from About Time and Live Wire Thomas Males in third.
The NS14s was again Viva la Vida from Spinifex and Hedgehog third.
No B14 contested the third race.
Due to a broken anchor line the start boat abandoned the final race.
With no sailing on Sunday the results are now final.
