I have reviewed sailing Australia advice, along with my work, government health reports and I understand the general advice is to maintain good personal hygiene, restrict mass gatherings, self-isolate if you have returned from travel or believe you may have been exposed or in a situation where your health may have been compromised.
In this regard I believe it is safe to continue with sailing activities under the current advice level, ie. small group, respect of personal space along with reminder of good hygiene practices. I this it is also important to keep some normality in our lives, albeit with an awareness of current societal concerns. I note that Lindisfarne have adopted this same approach.
For this Sunday trophy race, there will be no BBQ lunch provided. Normal canteen running for lunch if required. Musa is looking to put on an afternoon tea instead of lunch and we can cook up some sausages and bread if that is required.
I have attached a copy of Tas Gov public health update doc from the state government FYI (sent out yesterday afternoon). Will also put up a copy of the attached personal hygiene sheet.
- Sailing continuing, with regular weekly review. Updates posted by Friday 6pm each week.
- No morning racing only afternoon.
- No BBQ lunch this week, but canteen continues to operate but availability of all tucker may be limited.
- In respect to the current COVID-19 pandemic please respect personal space, continue good personal hygienic practices especially hand washing.
- If your:
- feeling unwell,
- have been in close contact with people you think may be at risk,
- have recently travelled,
- generally not comfortable in attending organised events at this time,
please stay away from the club. You will be missed and please let the club know if we can help in anyway.
