Very little wind this morning for our trainees who had some drifting practice. After lunch we only had a small fleet with the NS14s at a TT in Montrose and the majority of Sabres at the ITSABOAT race at Bellerive.
Non the less three Sabres and two B14s headed out with a lovely sea breeze making for a fun couple of races.
The first race got away a little late at 13:41 with a nice SE breeze of around 8-10 knots with gusts in the low teens. The B14s had a virtual match race going around the top mark within a second of each other and matching tacks and jibes all race with Phantom clearing out to take the gun by two minutes ahead of Early Warning and Loose Change three minutes 18 clear of Wind Wizard.
On handicap it was Wind Wizard Sarah Michael first ten seconds ahead of Phantom Steve Miller and Safiya Davidson second and Apisca Shane Goring third.
Race two got away at 15:00 in similar conditions and again it was very tigt up the first leg but Phantom was ahead at the top mark and Loose Change leading the Sabres.
By the finish it was Phantom one minute 50 clear of Early Warning and Loose Change two and a half minutes clear of Wind Wizard.
On handicap it was Wind Wizard first Apisca second and Phantom third.
Next week is second last race training and Pennants 15 & 16 with hopefully a resail as well.
