Another great day on the water with all the trainees sailing in the Pacers and doing a great job in quite difficult conditions. After lunch the resail of Pennants 1 & 2 in some variable and quite challenging conditions with a good fleet of six Sabres five NS14s and five B14s and a windsurfer.
In Pennant 1 the Sabres had a general recall so the NS14s were away first at 13:41 with the B14s at 13:44 and Sabres finally away at 13:47. The breeze was a NW to W of 8-15 knots with some significant shifs keeping everyone on their toes.
By the finish it was Serenity Scott Wilkie and Bel Healey taking the gun in the NS14s from Viva la Vida Darren Eggins and Hunter Howe in second and Spinifex Peter and Karen Davis in third. In the B14s Pantom Steve Miller and Safi Davidson who came from well back to take the gun from Early Warning Ross Daley and Tony van Galen who had kite issues and Jumpin Jack Flash Roger Jackson and Luke Verceli who capsized only 100m from the finish line letting both Phantom and Early Warning through. Unfortunately Bondi Tram retired early and Misunderstood tore the main and retired. In the Sabres it was TBA Chris Keil first from Sweet Disposition Lauren Keil in second and Wasabi Guy McDougall in third.
On handicap it was Sabres TBA first Sweet Disposition second and Loose Change Phil Bloomfield in third. in the NS14s Serenity first Viva la Vida second and Spinifex third and in the B14s Phantom first Jumpin Jack Flash second and Early Warning third.
Pennant 2
Sabres got away at 14:55 in 13 knots the NS14s at 14:58 in 5 knots and the B14s at 15:01 in 9 knots so you can see how variable the breeze was.
By the gun it was Sweet Disposition first home in the Sabres from TBA and Wasabi in third. In the NS14s Sundaze Sam & Lindy Bailey was first from Serenity in second and Viva la Vida in third, and in the B14s Phantom with a big lead over Early Warning in second and Jumpin Jack Flash in third.
On handicap it was Sweet Disposition first TBA second and Wasabi in third, in the NS14s Sundaze first Serenity second and Viva la Vida third and in the B14s Phantom first Early Warning second and Jumpin Jack Flash in third.
