Training week 4 and re sail Pennants 1-2 & 4

Published Sun 02 Nov 2025

The trainees were on the water practicing getting off the beach in a warm but light northerly which turned into a gentle sea breeze.

Before race start the Northerly was back bigger and stronger than ever but with the sun out and a top temp of 29' everyone was happy to be on the water.

Pennant 1 re sail got away with the Sabres at 13:32 with the breeze about 15knots with gusts to 25 or so and building.

In the Sabres with a good fleet of 7 boats there was a great battle with Chris Keil just pippeng Jo-Anne Verrier by 4 seconds and Guy McDougall

in third.

In the NS14s Viva la Vida had a good win a minute clear of Serenity with Sundaze 40 seconds astern.

The B14s close tussle with Phantom first 28 seconds clear of Early Warning with Jumpin' Jack Flash 19 seconds further back.

Pennant 2 got away at 14:28 with the Sabres and this time Chris Keil had a swim letting Jo-Anne verrier through with a 25 second win over Guy McDougall and Chris in third and 3 boats dropped out.

The NS14s lost two boats with Viva La Vida first nearly a minute clear of Avengers and Sundaze in third 27 seconds astern.

In the B14s there were three starters with Early Warning first 44 seconds ahead of Phantom and no other finishers.

A very reduced fleet started the P4 resail in the strongest breeze of the day with pretty constant 20+ knots and a top gust of aroung 28 knots testing the 3 Sabres two Ns14s and a lonely B14 that stayed on the water.

In the Sabres Chris Keil had a solid 1 minute win over Jo-Anne Verrier and Sarah Michael did a great job to stay out there and finish 3rd.

The Ns14s had Avengers with a good win well clear of Sundaze and Early Warning completed the course to win the B14s.
