A good turn out for training in the morning and some close racing in the short course Trophy races after lunch.
Trophy 1 got away on time at 13:33 in light SE 8-13 knot breeze with short courses and combined start it was pretty tight racing.
At the line it was Phantom from Jumpin' Jack Flash with Under the Radar not far astern. On handicap it was Phantom Steve Miller & Safiya Davidson first Under the Radar Nick McElwee & Holly James second and Viva la Vida Darren Eggins & Billie Nelson third.
Race two got away soon after the last Sabre crossed the line and with a variable softening breeze a numbr of boats were late to the line. The same three boats were 1-2-3 over the finish line but on handicap it was Under the Radar first Viva la Vida second and Sundaze Sam & Lindy Bailey and Jumpin' Jack Flash Roger Jackson & Luke Verceli equal third.
The breeze briefly built and slowly swang west but before a course change could be completed the breeze returned to SE and dropped right down to 8 knots or less. The third race got away at 15:11 and in the last few seconds there was a big wind shift causing chaos on the line with boats going in all directions but everyone eventually got away. By the finish it was again the same three boats 1-2-3 but the fleet was less spread out and on handicap it was Apisca Shane Gorringe first Under the Radar second and About Time Sarah Haywood third.
Overall it was Under the Radar 2-1-2=5 first Viva la Vida 3-2-6=11 second and Phantom 1-4-11=16 third on a countback from Sundaze Sam & Lindy Bailey 5-3-8=16.
Next week there is no training but sailing on both Saturday and Sunday at the Pittwater Regatta.
