We were lucky that in the morning despite a bit of rain the breeze was good to get the trainees back out on the water with Pacers and Bics having a go.
After much indicision to sail or not, just three Sabres and a B14 headed out and the start in 14- 16 knot SW breeze that saw Chris waiting for the other two sabres to cross the line and eventually Phantom blasted through a small gap to get the race underway.
With everyone treating it as a practice session there was Phantom sailing without the Kite to get the feel of the fresher breeze, About Time waiting for the others to catch up a couple of times.
Eventually it was Phantom just nine minutes clear of About Time with Wasabi and then Loose Change who tested the water on the down wind sausage.
In the end the Airport weather station had the top gust at about 27 knots and base breeze always below 20 knots so very sailable.
Winner About Time Chris Keil from Loose Change Phil Bloomfield and Wasabi Guy McDougall in third.
Next week Pittwater Regatta Saturday and Sunday.
