After getting some of our trainees back on the water in the Bics in the morning we had a trophy race in the afternoon.
A fleet of five NS14s and two B14s and Sabres took to the water.
The breeze was a nice steady SSE of about 10-12knots with gusts to 15knots and a nice sunny day made for very enjoyable sailing.
The start was tight with most of the fleet up on the line and no issues and a good clean start.
The B14s went right and the balance of the fleet stayed on starboard which payed off with Serenity first to the top mark followed by Phantom then Sundaze.
The next leg was quite shy for the B14s but they soon moved out in front by the wing mark.
At the bottom mark Phantom had a clear lead over Bang Bang and extended it as the race wore on, Serenity held the lead in the NS14s and Loose Change headed the Sabres.
By the end of the race Phantom had a 3 minute plus lead over Bang Bang and Serenity was over two minutes clear of Sundaze with Viva la Vida nearly a minute and a half furthur astern.
In the Sabres Loose change was five and a half minutes ahead of Wind Wizard.
The back markers had a great battle with Pumpkin Eater with Melinda Lord and Charlotte Lord in her first race just five seconds clear of Norwegian Blue.
On handicap it was Norwegian Blue Stephen Townsend and Jayden Gadischke first from Serenity Scott Wilkie and Lucas Foerder second and Phantom Steve Miller and Sarah Haywood in third.
Next week is the final double pennant.
