At the allocated start time there was no breeze and over the next 45 minutes the breeze was very unstable and came from the NW W SW and then back to N. Finally a gentile SE breeze settled in which gradually built a little. The race got away at 13:55 in a 10-13 knot breeze with a fleet of seven Sabres four NS14s and one B14. It was an even start with Sundaze starting at the extreme pin end and pulling off a port start. By the first mark it was Sundaze from Phantom just ahead of Under the Radar and first Sabre was TBA from Sweet Disposition. One of our potential trainees tried out racing as crew on Phantom and Saphie did a great jod handling the spinnaker having never sailed before.
By the finish it was Phantom only three and a half minutes clear of Sundaze with Under the Radar two minutes furthur back in the Sabres it was TBA Chris Keil from Sweet Disposition Lauren Keil and then Apisca JoAnne Verrier.
On handicap it was Noiseworks Stepen Townsend 1st sailing on up from Under the Radar Melinda and Alastair Lord 2nd and Loose Change Phil Bloomfield 3rd.
Next week will be pennants 3 & 4.
