Vale Mick Emery

Published Thu 10 Aug 2023

Mick Emery long time member and friend to everyone died at home in the last few days. He will be sadly missed around the club.

Always first every Sunday to open up and get the training boats ready. Then get the rescue boats on the water, he would be out on the water with the trainees all morning back in for a quick lunch and out again to set the course for the afternoon racing and be on rescue boat duty. After the racing he would get the boats off the water and washed and finally have a drink and a rest.

Mick attended every working bee I can remember always keen to get on with it.

But most of all, was a respected member of the club loved by everyone from the young trainees to the senior members.

He was a regular at our Christmes functions as Santa's little helper Elf.

Mick didn't have a long life but he gave it everything and made lots of friends and left an enduring legacy at the club.

Good on ya Mick we are proud to have had you in our lives.

Steve Miller Commodore.
