MPYC and Australian Sailing celebrate “National Volunteer Week” and we thank all our dedicated volunteers that make our club work as that is all we have no paid staff just a group of great volunteers..
The timber we require to finish the jetty and repair the broken pole have been delivered to the club and are stored in the boat shed awaiting a low tide where we can have a working bee and install the new poles and replace the broken one.
With little wind in the morning the trainees sailors did theory only this morning.
In the afternoon a nice steady SSE breeze allowed great sailing in Pennants 15 & 16.
Another great day on the water with the race training in the morning and three of the boats joining in for the afternoon short course series, and they all finished all four races.
Another perfect day on the water with a gentle breeze for pennant 11 and 12 and during Pennant 12 the sea breeze filled in to 17 knots and gusts to 20 getting the fleet really going. In the morning four boats took part in the race training.
The ITSA boat race at Lindisfarne is on Sunday 12th NOT this coming weekend therefore we have moved Pennants 11 & 12 to this weekend 29th January and Trophy races on the 12th of February.
With all of our classes having their National Titles in Tasmania we will have many sailors participating as well as some in the Sharpie Titles at RYCT.Updated 14th Jan
Christmas Breakup day started early with a group of trainees on the water for one more sail in near perfect conditions. There was lots of progress made and a well worth while exercise. Followed by Santa who arrived by boat to delight the little ones. Then the Allsands Trophy race in the afternoon followed by a BBQ tea to finish off the first half of the season.
