Another intense day at Kingston with a very solid and gusty S to W breeze from 6-8 knots with gusts up to 27 knots. The club was hosting the Open Skiff and Mirror State Titles as well as the Sabot training weekend along with the B14 States.
The Midway Point Yacht Club team of Jo-Anne Verrier Skipper, Lauren Pitt, Sarah Haywood and Sarah Michael had a great regatta with two wins and a forth for a clear overall win on PHS.Well done all of you.
At Kingston after day one of the B14 State Titles in a crazy breeze the MPYC boats are also doing well,
Lewis Bowen and Jess Smith had a sucessful Block Buster Regatta taking out an overall win in the NS14s and Jo-Anne Verrier in a Sabre survived the Crown Series Regatta to win a Special Performance trophy as well as taking out the Sabre Travellers Trophy on handicap.
A good group of sailors headed out this morning for race training in perfect conditions. After lunch a fleet of five Sabres four NS14s three B14s and a Pacer headed out for a start box start and a starboard course.
MPYC are hosting the NS14 States this weekend with day one today.
Twelve boats fronted the starter with a Northerly on the eastern side of the bay and a westerly in the western part of the bay, there for setting a course was quite a challenge in the light and shifty conditions.
