Christmas Break day, Santa and Allsands Trophy

Christmas Breakup day started early with a group of trainees on the water for one more sail in near perfect conditions. There was lots of progress made and a well worth while exercise. Followed by Santa who arrived by boat to delight the little ones. Then the Allsands Trophy race in the afternoon followed by a BBQ tea to finish off the first half of the season.

Training final week

The trainees had a good session on the water today with the advanced group practicing starting and the beginners tackling tacking and jibing. There was a decent breeze making it a good learning curve for everyone. Ross has provided the following observations complete with graphics.

Sabre State Titles

Most of our Sabre sailors were away this weekend at the State Titles on the Derwent as part of the Showdown Regatta. Lauren Keil was the top local sailor in 10th position and first female as well as first on handicap in the 23 boat fleet with Chris Keil next in eleventh.

Interesting wind readings from Sunday

Check out the wind readings below from the time we were on the water, columns are, Time, Direction. Speed K, Gust K Speed Knots and Gust Knots. The direction was all over the place, see you didn't imagine it!

Pittwater Regatta day one

A good fleet and promising breeze as we headed out however as usual this season a very changeable and difficult breeze restricted us to just one race. So Now we have an early 10:00am start for tomorrows racing with hopefully seven races.

Pennants 7 & 8 Training week 5

Very light winds (again) with the advanced trainees practicing their skills and the beginners doing tacking and jibing on shore.

Anchor Wetsuits Trophy and week two of training.

Week two of training saw the beginners paddle and steer around a short course and the more advanced trainers out on the water but only observing. The Anchor wetsuits Trophy was sailed in cool conditions but in a nice little breeze.

Pennants 3 & 4 and the first week of Training

A reasonable day for the first week of training with the beginners getting a tour of the club and on the rescue boat a tour of the bay. The more advanced group got out on the water in a cool and slightly fresh breeze but all went well. Followed by Pennants 3 & 4 sailed in very changeable conditions.

Pennant 1 & 2

Only a small fleet for the opening two pennants for season 2022-23
